Dulux Heritage Eggshell is a fine quality, durable and hardwearing eggshell paint finish for use on interior wood and metal protecting it throughout your home, ensuring it remains beautiful for years to come.

Heritage Eggshell has a stunningly smooth finish which complements the Heritage Velvet Matt for walls.

Choose from a range of over 100 expertly selected colours, including favourites such as Green Clay, China White and Piano White to the absolutely glorious Florentine Red. Inspired by some of the most beautiful periods in British design history all the tones of this colour range sit in perfect harmony with each other.

This water based eggshell works best on new wood when applied over Dulux Heritage Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

Tip: Use a good quality Synthetic Filament Paint Brush for best results and fewer brush marks.

Application Instructions

Preparation:

To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry.
Thoroughly rub down previously painted surfaces, using ‘wet flatting’ methods where possible, then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth.
Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
Treat knots with an appropriate knotting solution.
Any surface defects should be filled with the appropriated Polycell Trade Polyfilla.

Application:

Stir thoroughly before use
For new or bare surfaces apply 2 coats of Dulux Heritage Primer Undercoat
Allow Dulux Heritage Eggshell to dry for a minimum of 6 hours between coats
For best results use a good quality synthetic (nylon polyester) brush or a short pile synthetic/mohair roller designed for the application of water-based paints.
To get the best with the Dulux Heritage Eggshell, lightly dampen both a synthetic brush and the surface before application to increase flow out.
As with other water-based paints, do not apply at temperatures below 8°C (as recommended by British Standards BS 6150).

Spray Recommendations:

Most suitable for HVLP spray application using a minimum 3 stage unit.
A typical setting is a 1.8mm spray tip (equivalent #4 fluid set) and a maximum of 20% thinning.
All recommendations are approximate as all settings will be affected by equipment/manufacturer, substrate type/size and temperature/humidity and therefore should only be used as a guideline.
Spray application should only be carried when using appropriate PPE.

Cleaning

After use, remove as much product as possible from equipment before cleaning with water.

Storage

Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
